Wrecked: Movie Review
http://movies.netflix.com/Movie/Wrecked/70180295?trkid=1851333
3 of 5 stars
1st, the entire film is done in ONE place, more than half in a car, the rest outside the car. Right up to the last minute one keeps waiting for something to happen to make this movie make some sense. It never does. With 20 minutes left I knew it was a loser of a film, but by then I figured may as well see what they used to justify an ending. A cell phone that traveled a river for miles, now works? So many loose ends are left hanging, we never know what happened to the dog or to the black guy, or to the main character or the woman.
Credibility is completely shot which is amazing in such a limited scenario. This was a poor attempt to remake Memento, a dismal failure. What was good about it? Brody's acting was brilliant, he cried exactly the way I would have (& have done) in same or similar situations, that frustrated want to give up cry. One feels & experiences all of this as if you are the main character. Otherwise, give it a pass.

You Again movie review
You rated this movie: 3 of 5 stars
Predictable, but mostly fun, some laughs but not a hoot a minute. Nothing new or original here, as others wondered, why were all these big stars in something so mediocre? Very little was credible in any way, which is a big hurdle for any film to ignore as this has. A somewhat feel good movie with a "happy" ending that does not really satisfy, there was too little balance in the character development and scenes; JJ should have had to pay back a bit more to consider this credible, but as in life, rarely are movies or anything else fair. Curtis looked very rough in this, Weaver would have been more believable in Curtis' role. Yustman was not a very convincing actress in the latter part of the movie, especially the fridge scene & hospital wedding scene, which is where this movie dove south on a speeding bullet, as if trying to just wrap up loose ends with no real thought into HOW or WHY they chose those lame finishes. Don't rent or buy it, find it on cable on a rainy day.

Review of Katt Williams Presents: Katthouse Comedy
Katt Williams Presents: Katthouse Comedy

This pretty much sucked except for Luenell, she was hilarious--or maybe she seemed funnier because the other 2 were so bad? Katt never appears, except for a racist comment about crackhead mexicans in behind the scenes footage. The 1st & only guy could not get a laugh so he laughed & giggled at his own stuff to get any reactions. Luenell was 2nd & fabulously funny. The 3rd & last was so stiff & whiny that I kept checking the time hoping there would be another one, but it was finally over. All the comedy is crude, even worse than the usual, which I don't mind crude if FUNNY & done well, not out of desperation for a laugh or shock value because one's material sucked. No belly laughs through any of this, despite the hard work of Luenell, just being herself, she's good, I've seen her before, all new material this time. I have never seen Katt yet, will try one more before I give up on his series completely. Don't waste your time on this.

The best movie I've seen in years. Moby & Stones music, mob, porn, murder, greed, adultery, lust, envy, one keeps wondering when the lead character play by Wilson, will get out before the getting is gone, but he doesn't and therein lies the fantastic ending. Unpredictable, surprise wrap up, everyone gets what they deserve, very satisfying. Theme of redemption underlying the drama. Nudity but no sex, violence but nothing gory, each element was done perfectly, nothing overdone or unbalanced. What a great script, excellent character building & acting from everyone involved. At 1st I thought this would be like a documentary, but when I saw the stars attached to this, it lent credibility so I took it more seriously, and this is not a funny film. It is a dramatic action film. Definitely worth buying & seeing again. Highly recommend this, it beats anything else released in the last two years, easy.

2 stars for the 2 laughs I got from this, his show really sucked, my 1st time seeing him, I may try another because reviewers have said his other material is better, I generally give a comedian 2 chances. Too bad this was my 1st with JK, but then again, it can't get much worse than this either. I wouldn't watch this for free on cable, never mind buy it or rent it, even for free there are better things to do with the time than suffer through something like this. The honest truth, unfortunately.
